For the Final Product, I produced a short hand-drawn animation,
titled: Analogue - Man in Mythic and Religious World
The word analogue has many meanings, and for the meaning of analogue in this animation is that, a literally work that shares motifs, characters or events with another. I think that in Religion and Myth stories, many of their plot and characters are really similar and they even begin from the same system.
In this Animation, the main character accidently entered a world where different religions and myth all over the world combine as one.
Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Shintoism, Rome Myth, Norse Myth and Chinese Myth, all combined together one by one in this world. They all looked similar and shows variation one by one.
Through out the journey, he was questioned, his faith towards his own religion was challenged. He was feared and confused such a world.

2) In the Religious world, the character will experience different Architecture from different Religions.
3) The Character will also meet different religious and mythology characters.
I will also take reference to those movies which has a hidden religious theme.

Modern Movies related to religions
There are many modern movies,
although they don't look religious,
there are hidden themes behind that which are related to religion.
無間道 Infernal Affairs is a good example.
The concept of 無間 comes from the concept of Buddhism,
which is Avīci hell, which is one of the four hell of the Buddhism.
Another example is 新少林寺 Shaolin,
Which is a story about "悟", which means awaken or enlighten in the Buddhism.
For Western Movies,
A good example is The Da Vinci Code,
Which talks about many dark side of the Catholic Religion.
Another recent example is Life of Pi,
Which is a story based on the Hinduism Religion.
Japan Religion - Shintoism
Shintoism (神道教) , or Kami-no-michi,
is the biggest religion in Japan.
It is famous for its traditional festivals, Shrines and Mythology Stories.
It has a relationship with the buddism, but it is a completely religion.
The religion is mainly based on the colorful mythology characters:
Amaterasu-ōmikami (天照大御神) - Goddess of the Sun
Izanagi (伊邪那岐) & Izanami(伊邪那美) - forefather & mother of all of the gods
Susanoo-no-Mikoto (須佐之男尊) - God of the Storm and Sea
Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto (月読の命) - God of the Moon
Itsukushima Shrine's Torri floating Gate

Indian Religion - Hinduism
I will continue the research on religions on this blog.
After researching on the Christianity, Islam and Buddhism,
this time, I researched about the Indian Religion --- Hinduism.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Hinduism is one of the largest traditional religion of India.
It has a long history, it began at about 2500 B.C.
It has a lot of divisions, which have huge difference between them,
some of the main ones are:
Smārtism
Vaishnavism
Shaivism
Shaktism
Hinduism has some relationship with Buddhism,
However, different from other religions,
they don't have a single belief, or a complete mythology,
it's more like that they are combined by many different myths and religions.
The main mythology characters in Hinduism include:
Vishnu
Shiva
Devi

"Project Proposal"
After doing research on the history of different religions,
Stories of different Mythologies,
Artwork and Architecture related to those topics,
I found out that there are many similarities in between them.
I would like to bring up an idea and question in this project:
Will all religions and Myths starts from the same origin?
This is highly related to our keyword “Analogue”,
as I would like to bring out that they are all different,
but the same at the same time.
I planned to produce a short film,
to tell a story that explores the worlds of all different myths and religions,
and discover their similarity through the change in the journey.
In order to fit the theme of multi-media,
I planned to use hand-drawn Animation, Photograph sequence and Stop-motion,
to show the difference of the myths and religions.
And for the Audio, I will create a sound track mixing the sound source of different religious music.
"Rome Mythology"
The Rome Mythology are more well-known than the Norse Mythology.
Look through the history,
there are tons of art work based on the Rome Myths,
even many New Media Art Works use stories of Rome Gods and Monsters.

"Norse Mythology"
Talking about Mythology,
The most common well-known myth are the Rome Myths.
However, the mythology that I researched on are the Norse Mythology,
So that I can compare them to the Rome Mythology or even Religious Stories,
and use them in my Project.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Norse Mythology are the created by the myths around area like Sweden, Island and Denmark.
They are not as well-known as the Rome Myths,
because many of them are ancient and not text-recorded.
However, recently, many media works also use Norse Mythology as their story background,
as Rome myths is nothing new to audiences anymore,
for example: Thor (movie), Avengers (movie), Ragnarok Online (Game)
Movie - Thor
Game - Ragnarok Online
Different from other Mythologies all around the world,
Norse Myth doesn't describes a bright beautiful world where the Gods are Powerful.
Giants, enemies of the Gods, are way more powerful than the Gods,
the Gods were even defeated in the final battle: Ragnarok by the Giants and the universe were destroyed at the end.
There are nine worlds in the setting of Norse Mythology:
Asgard, Vanaheim, Alfheim, Midgard, Bifrost, Jothuheim, Jarnvid, Svartalfheim, Hel, Niflheim
And the gigantic world tree -Yggdrasil stands at the center of the universe to support the nine worlds.
There are some major figures in Norse Mythology:
Odin - King of all Norse Gods and Goddesses
Thor - Odin's Son, God of Thunder, the strongest warrior amongst the Gods
Loki - Son of giants, a Trickster
Freyr - God of Farming and weather
Freyja - Sister of Freyr, the main Goddes of the Vanir
"Religions"
As I said in the last post,
I would like to bring up the idea of " analogue",
through the relationship and similarity in between different religions and mythology.
As a result, I found some artwork and information about the most well known religions in the world.

"Analogue"
"Analogue", the key word of this Integrated Studio Project.
Actually, I am not sure about it's meaning in the first place.
In order to search for meaning of analogue and find a direction for my Integrated Studio Project,
I Googled the word, and looked it up in Wikipedia, using my smart phone: (you know, students nowadays...)
Combine the meanings from Wiki and Dictionary,
the most eye-catching meaning of "analogue" to me is:
Analogue (literature)
According to wiki, it means that a literally work that shares motifs, characters or events with another,
but is not directly derived from it.
"Analogue" the word itself has a meaning of similarity.
In words of literature, different literature can tell different stories but may based on the same origin.
The most outstanding example of this idea is "Mythology" and "Religion".
They all tell different stories,
have unique rules and settings,
however, they all sounds similar at some point, aren't they?
I don't know what kind of artwork I can create for this idea,
but I am sure this direction is good for me to bring up a unique meaning of "analogue".
I will start research about this.

meaning of literature, technology, biology, entertainment etc.
I also looked up the word "analogue" in dictionary:
In my opinion, one of the reason that "analogue" is the keyword of ISP,
is because of the variety of meanings.
So that each students can create their own unique artwork to express their own meaning of analogue.
So what kind of unique "analogue" artwork can I create?
